Eva Szumilas

Eva Szumilas is Polish-Lebanese designer. She studied architecture at Technical University of Wroclaw, Poland; where she graduated with a Master Degree in Architecture and City Planning in 2002. She has successfully connected her passion and love for design and traveling. Since 2004 she has been living and working in Cyprus, Ireland and Lebanon. She has moved to Beirut in 2010 where she has established her design studio few years later. She has been working as furniture and product designer and as an architect since then. Her work is a poetry of functionality with powerful aesthetics; it is fuelled by her life experiences, background and passions influenced by both Middle Eastern and European cultures. Her furniture collection is back to the essence of design, in the spirit of art decorative where the aim is beauty, aesthetics, purity and elegance. This timeless, pure and discreet design is easy to love and integrates harmoniously in any space. Nobel materials and advance craftsmen techniques are used to manufacture her pieces. Her work has been shown in Paris and London at Pavilion of Art & Design and published in many international magazines: AD France, AD Germany, AD Middle East, Taschen and others.

Martin Iglody, watch designer. Born in Kosice - Slovakia and living in Cork - Ireland. The great appreciation for watches was something developed much later on in his life. Martin converted his strong watch enthusiasm and his graphic design ability to artistic creativity of timepieces and continue to do so from 2016. In 2017 he founded MD studio for purpose to materialize his designs to final product. As a independent watch designer works with talented watchmakers and reliable watch manufacturers in Europe and Asia. His eye for watch design, knowledge of watches and understanding of manufacturing costs gives him a unique perspective and ability to understand the entire process of transforming watch design into a finished product.

Yamile Salomon (Joy) is a Cuban graphic designer. In late 2018 in Havana she launched Joy Color Design, a project dedicated to the design of jewelry and various products that are strongly influenced by graphic design. Now, from her Little Havana apartment in Miami, she creates designs with a visual and conceptual synthesis. As a sort of wearable graphics, her pieces represent where textile meets silversmithing, using embroidery to unify materials and surfaces. Her designs are an elegant yet playful mix of materials, shapes and stories that carry a distinctively Cuban vision of minimalism that seek to be the joy and detail of your day. She currently works with 999 fine silver and recycled acrylic as her main materials. Each piece, imperfect but unique, is manufactured by the designer herself.

I grew up in colorful household filled with art history books, canvases and brushes. Being the daughter of a struggling artist, I sought refuge in the pursuit of a stable career in law. After studying law, I started working as a legal aide in Brazil´s Senate and the federal government in Brasilia, Brazil´s capital. After years of exposure to heavy state bureaucracy, I realized that my heart was not where my work was and strived to find other employment opportunities where I could satisfy my creative desires. A friend of mine introduced me to the jewelry world and it was love at first sight. I initially started drawing and designing after I would return home from work… Shortly after those designs became my first few pieces… and now it has become a fulltime labor of love. I began designing fulltime towards the end of 2018. In early 2019 I started working on my “dream collection” and finally found the courage to post some of my works on Instagram. These posts changed my life. Shortly after, I received invites to participate in several jewelry exhibits after which I decided to show my collection at the Brazil Jewelry Week in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The feedback I received was so positive that it only reinforced my decision to design fulltime. That was when Larissa Moraes Jewelry was born! Courage breeds courage! I decided to participate in the A' Design Award and Competition in February 2020 and won gold prize! The sensation I felt in knowing that people could truly appreciate the love that I poured into my work was unmeasurable. I could finally say, “My work is my love, my love is my work”
